Galya Rosenfeld’s work is at the intersection of design, fashion, craft and art. Ruled by mathematic formulas as much as creativity, Rosenfeld’s designs emerge from the place where whimsy meets pragmatic thought. Rosenfeld's work has been displayed in major exhibitions around the world, most recently at the Israel Museum, Jerusalem, the Tel-Aviv Museum of Art and the Contemporary Jewish Museum, San Francisco. She accesses a diverse range of materials through her practice, mixing traditional techniques with those she has developed. In her work she searches for internal logic of form and material along side self-reflexive commentary about her fields of activity. Her pieces have been accepted into the permanent collection of The Costume Institute at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, commissioned for the permanent collection of The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York, exhibited at the Design Living Center Ozone in Tokyo, and gifted by Shimon Peres, President of the State of Israel, to The Deutscher Bundestag, Berlin. Rosenfeld's experience includes lecturing and teaching internationally. She can be found teaching in the Department of Jewelry and Fashion at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Jerusalem and working in her studio in Ramat Gan, Israel.
