Tree Glasses, 2011
Beech wood, borosilicate (Pyrex) glass. Variable. Maximum height: 35 cm x maximum width: 7cm
A celebration of trees and wine. A forest of glass and wood. Outlines of clear tree-tops float atop rough, chiseled tree-trunks. Wine is plentiful as various shades of the liquid fill a progression of glasses that animate the growth and foliage formation of different types of trees.
Special thanks to the Artists Yaakov Sasson and Uri Shapira. Pictured with the work of John Bankston and David Ellsworth. Created for the exhibition Do Not Destroy: Trees, Art and Jewish Thought - An exhibition and The Dorthy Saxe Invitational, Contemporary Jewish Museum, San Francisco, February 16 - September 9, 2012. Last photo: Johnna Arnold.
